Situação econômica e produtiva da cultura dos citros no estado da Paraíba

    In view of the importance of the citrus industry in the economy of the Paraíba, it was objectified with this revision to carry through a survey of the last productive data on the citrus industry in the State. In the Paraíba, the citrus industry predominates in Plateaus of the Borborema, Mesoregion Paraibano Wasteland and mainly in the microregion of the Paraibano Heath. As information of Agricultural Production (PAM) of 2009 the production of orange in the state of the Paraíba was verified in 60 cities, having totalized 6,073 tons where the producing greater was Alagoa Nova with 1.750 tons of orange in 350 ha of planted and harvested area, with value of production of R$ 438 a thousand Reals. Already the plantation of lemon in the state was identified in 31 cities, totalizing 2,778 tons with São Sebastião of the Lagoa of Roça the city of bigger production (720 tons of lemon in 60 ha of planted and harvested area, with value of production of R$ 504 a thousand Reals). The plantation of mandarin in the state was identified in 09 cities, totalizing 19,514 tons where the producing greater was Matinhas with 6.800 tons of mandarin in 850 ha of planted and harvested area, with value of production of R$ 2,040 a thousand Reals. citrus enters produced in the Paraíba, the mandarin is the car-head of the activity in the State, being its production a little three times more than bigger that the production of bigger orange and seven times that the lemon production, exactly being produced in a lesser number of cities in relation to excessively citrus.

    Tendo em vista a importância da citricultura na economia da Paraíba, objetivou-se com esta revisão realizar um levantamento dos últimos dados produtivos sobre a citricultura no Estado. Na Paraíba, a citricultura predomina no Planalto da Borborema, mesorregião Agreste Paraibano e principalmente na microrregião do Brejo Paraibano.

    Conforme informações da Produção Agrícola Municipal (PAM) de 2009 a produção de laranja no estado da Paraíba foi verificada em 60 municípios, totalizando 6.073 toneladas onde o maior produtor foi Alagoa Nova com 1.750 toneladas de laranja em 350 ha de área plantada e colhida, com valor de produção de R$ 438 mil reais. Já o plantio de limão no estado foi identificado em 31 municípios, totalizando 2.778 toneladas com São Sebastião da Lagoa de Roça o município de maior produção (720 toneladas de limão em 60 ha de área plantada e colhida, com valor de produção de R$ 504 mil reais). O plantio de tangerina no estado foi identificado em 09 municípios, totalizando 19.514 toneladas onde o maior produtor foi Matinhas com 6.800 toneladas de tangerina em 850 ha de área plantada e colhida, com valor de produção de R$ 2.040 mil reais. entre os citrus produzidos na Paraíba, a tangerina é o carro-chefe da atividade no Estado, sendo sua produção um pouco mais de três vezes maior que a produção de laranja e sete vezes maior que a produção de limão, mesmo sendo produzida em um número menor de municípios em relação aos demais citrus.
