El español de las telenovelas mexicanas

    Las variedades en las clases de ELE / EL2 son un ingrediente indispensable y hay que recurrir a fuentes auténticas para ofrecer un input real a los alumnos. El uso de los recursos audiovisuales para tal efecto ya se ha normalizado en los últimos años, pero antes de usar las telenovelas mexicanas en el aula habría que determinar si el español hablado en las telenovelas mexicanas es realmente un reflejo de la(s) variedad(es) mexicana(s). En este artículo se investigan las características lingüísticas de nueve telenovelas mexicanas y se busca dar respuesta a la pregunta de si pueden constituir un input valioso tanto como variedad preferente o variedad periférica.

    Varieties and dialects are crucial when teaching Spanish as a second or foreign language. Therefore, it becomes necessary to access authentic resources in order to offer a real input to the students. The use of audiovisual resources has become quite common in recent years, but before using Mexican soap operas in class it is important to verify if the Spanish spoken in Mexican soap operas is a plausible reflection of Mexican dialects. In this article we will analyse the linguistic characteristics of nine Mexican soap operas, and we will offer an answer to the question of whether they may be a valuable input as the preferred dialect or the peripheral dialect.
