    El Partido Comunista Chino cumple este año el noventa aniversario de su creación en Shanghai en 1921. Aunque algunos analistas puedan considerar que el comunismo y el Partido chinos no son hoy para nada lo que sus fundadores pretendieron hace noventa años, su extraordinaria transición hacia una “tercera vía” político-económica entre el comunismo y el capitalismo no ha hecho desaparecer las viejas amenazas de siempre, que principalmente le llegan del mar (y hoy también del ciberespacio). Ni sus amenazas internas de disgregación, a las que siempre ha respondido fortaleciendo la asimilación entre los intereses nacionales y los del Partido. Sólo el tiempo dirá si la deseada democratización interna de su sociedad está a la altura de sus pacíficas intenciones como Gran Potencia en este siglo que entra.

    The Communist Party of China celebrates this year its 90th anniversary since its foundation in Shanghai in 1921. Although some analysts may consider that Chinese communism and Party are not by far the same currently than its founders pretended it to be ninety years ago, its extraordinary transition to an economical and political “third-way” between communism and capitalism has not made its same old threats vanish, that mainly come from the Sea (and nowadays from the cyberspace, too). Nor its internal disintegration threats, to which always has responded strengthening the assimilation of the national interests with those of the Party. Only time will tell whether the desirable democratization of its society measures up to its peaceful intentions as a Great Power in this brand new century, or not.
