Descripción y prueba del híbrido simple de maíz amarillo fonaiap

    El híbrido de maíz amarillo FONAIAP 1 es un cultivar de cruza simple, constituido por las líneas endocriadas SO-SUWAN 1 FHC 65-4-2-#-# y 92-POB 36 CV HC 144-2-2-B- #*4-1 -#. Constituye el primer híbrido simple comercial de maíz amarillo liberado por el sector oficial en Venezuela, donde es deficitario la producción de este tipo de grano, por lo que se tiene que recurrir anualmente a su importación. Durante los años 1999 a 2001, el híbrido FONAIAP 1 fue sometido a pruebas de evaluación regional en los ensayos que conduce el FONAIAP, hoy INIA, demostrando en promedio de 33 localidades ensayadas un rendimiento superior en 13% en relación con los testigos de referencia que se utilizaron en las pruebas. Basándose en este comportamiento se solicita la elegibilidad a certificación del híbrido en cuestión.

    The yellow-endosperm maize cultivar FONAIAP 1 is a single-cross hybrid, formed by crossing inbred lines: 80-SUWAN 1 FHC 65-4-2-#-# and 92-POB 36 CV HC 144-2-2-B-#*4-1-#. lt is the first commercial yellow-endosperm single-cross hybrid released by the public sector in Venezuela, where production of this type of maize is deficient and imports are needed annually. During the years 1999-2001 the hybrid FONAIAP 1 was evaluated in 33 environments in regional trials conducted by FONAIAP, showing a yield superiority of 13% with respect to reference checks used in these trials. Eligibility to certification for this hybrid is being requested from the National Seed Service (SENASEM).
