Resumen de ¿El Museo del Prado tiene un Registro de obras de arte?: ¿Y eso qué es?

La gestión integral de la colección de obras de arte del Museo Nacional del Prado es una tarea compleja por el número, la diversidad e importancia de la misma. Su desarrollo por parte de su Servicio de Registro es una tarea muchas veces desconocida.
El presente artículo busca dar a conocer la evolución histórica del Registro del museo, desde su creación en los años ochenta del pasado siglo hasta la actualidad, relacionando dicha evolución con la situación nacional e internacional del registro y estableciendo la relación entre esta evolución y los distintos marcos jurídicos que han marcado la transformación del museo.
Expone la necesidad de dotar de visibilidad el trabajo del Registro, tanto su teoría como su práctica, de cara a divulgar la importancia de su misión haciendo hincapié en la necesidad de una formación continua de sus técnicos y la conveniencia de estructurar su estudio dentro de la enseñanza reglada española.

The integral management of the art collection at the Prado Museum is a complex task given its number, diversity and importance. Its development is undertaken by its Registrar Service and is a task often unknown. The present article seeks to explain both the historical evolution of the Registrar at the institution, from its creation in the middle 80s of the xxth Century up until the present time, while, at the same time, relating this evolution with the national and international understanding of said figure while establishing a relationship between said evolution and the different legal frameworks that have marked the transformation of the Museum.
It also shows the need to provide visibility for the different roles undertaken by the registrar, both in theory and practice, in order to remark and expose the importance of its mission while emphasizing the need for continuous training of its technicians and the convenience of structuring their study in the Spanish regulated education.
