Psychoanalysis has furthered a knowledge of authors rather than an understanding of texts. "Literary clinic" is a concept derived from and applied to Celine's most "interprétable" novel, Death on the Installment Plan, and that concept as well as psychoanalysis reading may be used to show that writing is not analysis but the quest and creation of jouissance in the very impossibility of the subject's relation to sexual difference.
