Resumen de Poème: la leçon du tombeau

Christian Doumet

  • Victor Segalen, in transposing material from the earlier Briques et tuiles to Stèles (Tombstones), condensed an essentially narrative form into poetry. A close reading and comparison of « Treize tombeaux » and « Edit funéraire » shows that the rewriting of this confrontation of the « narrator-hero » with his own death supposes on the part of the author a confrontation of the link between poetry and death — which epitaphs exemplify.
