Características termorreguladoras de diferentes linhagens de suínos na microrregião do Alto Médio Gurguéia

    This study aimed to assess the thermoregulatory characteristics of different genetic lines of pigs in different climatic periods (PC1 - hot and dry and PC2 - mild and humid at the micro- region of Alto Médio Gurguéia. We have considered Agroceres pigs (n= 7) and Dan Breed pigs (n = 7). The respiratory rate (RR) and rectal temperature (RT) were collected at 7-8 a.m. and at 2-3 p.m., four times in each climatic period. During the same days and times room temperature (TA), relative humidity (RH) and black globe temperature (TGN) were measured, and using them, we have calculated the rate of globe temperature and humidity (NGT). The general average for RR (mov/min) in PC1 was 58.73 (7-8 a.m.) and 81.00 mov/minute (2-3 p.m.); RT was 38.60 (7-8 a.m.) and 38.81 oC (2-3 p.m.). And, as for PC2, RR was 46.45 (7-8 a.m.) and 50.96 mov/minute (2-3 p.m.) and RT was 38.34 (7-8 a.m.) and 38.65 oC (2-3 p.m.). As for the two strains, Agroceres and Dan Breed, in that order, the average RT was 38.53 and 38.68 oC and RR 57.66 and 60.91 mov/minute. The research environment is out of comfort zone for pigs, and despite TR is within physiological limits, the RR was almost always above the physiological limits, showing that animals were stressed.

    Objetivou-se avaliar as características termorreguladoras de diferentes linhagens de suínos em diferentes períodos climáticos (PC1 - quente e seco e PC2 - ameno e úmido) na microrregião região do alto médio Gurguéia. Foram utilizados suínos Agroceres (n = 7) e Dan Breed (n = 7). A frequência respiratória (FR) e temperatura retal (TR) foram coletadas nos horários de 7-8 e 14-15 h, quatro vezes em cada período climático. Nos mesmos dias e horários foram mensuradas a temperatura ambiente (TA), umidade relativa do ar (UR) e temperatura de globo negro (TGN) e, a partir destas foi calculado o índice de temperatura de globo e umidade (ITGU). A média geral da FR no PC1 foi de 58.73 (7-8 h) e 81.00 mov/mim (14-15 h). Para TR foi de 38.60 (7-8 h) e 37.81 oC (14-15 h). E PC2 para FR de 46.45 (7-8 h) e 50.96 mov/mim (14-15 h) e para TR de 38.34 (7-8 h) e de 37.65 oC (14-15 h). Quanto às duas linhagens, Agroceres e Dan Breed, nessa ordem, a média da TR foi 38.53 e 38.68 oC e FR de 57.66 e 60.91 mov/mim. O ambiente de pesquisa está fora da zona de conforto para suínos, e apesar da TR estar dentro dos limites fisiológicos, a FR esteve quase sempre acima dos limites fisiológicos demonstrando estresse dos animais.
