    Este artículo sostiene la idea que el padre de la Economía Política al fundar esta ciencia hereda al mismo tiempo una visión o dimensión moral para ésta y el capitalismo. La ideología de la sociedad capitalista tiene subyacente esa visión heredada por Smith. Para ese propósito se analizan dos obras mayores la Riqueza de las naciones (Smith, 1991) y la Teoría de los sentimientos morales (Smith, 1999). La relación de ambos trabajos se comprende a partir de la dialéctica del pensamiento del autor, su contexto histórico y las categorías hombre, sociedad, totalidad y praxis.

    This article maintains the idea that the father of the political economy, while founding this science, had a vision or moral dimension for that and the capitalism. The ideology of the capitalist society has that underlying vision inherited by Smith. For that purpose two mayor works are analyzed: The Wealth of the Nations (Smith, 1991) and The Theory of the Moral Feelings (Smith, 1999). The relationship of both works is understood is understood from the dialectic of the author’thought, its historical context and the categories: man, society, totality and praxis.
