    Este artículo sostiene la idea que el padre de la Economía Política al fundar esta ciencia hereda al mismo tiempo una visión o dimensión moral para ésta y el capitalismo. Ese objetivo se alcanza analizando dos trabajos fundamentales la Riqueza de las naciones (Smith, 1991) y la Teoría de los sentimientos morales (Smith, 1999). La relación de ambas obras se estudia a partir de la dialéctica del pensamiento del autor, su contexto histórico y las categorías hombre, sociedad, totalidad y praxis.

    This article maintains the idea that the father of the political economy, while founding this science, had a vision or moral dimension for that and the capitalism. That objective can be reached by analyzing two fundamental works, The Wealth of the Nations (Smith, 1991) and The Theory of the Moral Feelings (Smith, 1999). The relationship of both works is studied from the dialectic of the author’s thought, its historical context and the categories: man, society, totality and praxis.
