    In this paper, we will show ow modern fortification becomes the reference for the study of the principles that govern the architectural form. In addition to the utilitarian character traditionally associated with fortification, we will discuss how it is possible to assign to it other aspects related to the base of architectural thought and how these constitute the main reason for these fortifications
