Resumen de Mecenazgo y patrocinio religioso novohispano en Lebrija (Sevilla)

  La presente investigación pretende contribuir al conocimiento de las relaciones existentes entre Andalucía y América en el ámbito del mecenazgo y el patrocinio religioso. En concreto, este artículo tiene como principal objetivo aclarar algunas circunstancias particulares en torno a la nómina de indianos que potenciaron estas actividades en el Antiguo Reino de Sevilla. Para ello, nos centramos en la familia de comerciantes Mora- Mori, provenientes de Yanguitlán (Oaxaca) y asentados en Lebrija (Sevilla). El esposo, comerciante andaluz asentado en México, y la esposa, oriunda del lugar, realizarán su tornaviaje en 1757, iniciando un nuevo período en el que darán continuidad a su intervención en el ámbito eclesiástico y artístico, ya iniciada en las Indias, teniendo Mori un papel fundamental, tanto en su matrimonio como en solitario, durante la viudedad.

  This research aims to contribute to the knowledge of the relations between Andalusia and America in the field of patronage and religious sponsorship. Specifically, this article has as main objective to clarify some particular circumstances around the payroll of Indians that enhanced these activities in the Old Kingdom of Seville. In this order, we focus on the family Mora-Mori, from Yanguitlán (Oaxaca) and settled in Lebrija (Seville). The husband, an andalusian merchant based in Mexico, and the wife, a native of the place, will carry out their turning in 1757, beginning a new period in which they will continue their intervention in the ecclesiastical and artistic field, already initiated in the Indies, having Mori a fundamental role, both in their marriage and alone, during widowhood.
