La Biblioteca Universitaria de Deusto fue fundada el mismo año que la propia Universidad, 1886.
A lo largo de los primeros 100 años, la evolución de la Biblioteca estuvo de acuerdo con la concepción de la propia enseñanza universitaria.
El reto para el nuevo milenio es crear una biblioteca universitaria que, teniendo presente su historia, mire hacia el futuro y proporcione acceso a los recursos de información necesarios para producir conocimiento, para el estudio, la enseñanza, la investigación o la transmisión cultural.

Deustuko Unibertsitateko Biblioteka unibertsitatearekin batera sortu zen 1836an.
Lehenengo 100 urteetan bibliotekaren garapena unibertsitateko hezkuntza ideiekin bat zihoan.
Hurrengo milurtekorako erronka etorkizunera begira dagoen unibertsitate-biblioteka sortzea da, bai eta ikasteko, irakasteko, ikertzeko edo kultura igortzeko beharrezko informazioa eskuragarri jartzea ere, beti ere, unibertsitatearen historia ahaztu gabe.

The University Library of Deusto was founded the same year as the University itself, in 1886.
Throughout the first 100 years, the Library evolved in accordance with the conception of university education itself.
The challenge for the new millennium is to create a university library that, while bearing in mind its history, looks towards the future and provides access to the necessary information resources for the production of knowledge, for study, teaching, research or cultural transmission.
