    Bilbao-Bilbo, es el nombre de nuestra Villa, y por extensión el patronímico de muchos de sus hijos y entidades, pero por Bilbao también se han conocido en el mundo, poblamientos con el mismo toponímico, así como objetos y productos artístico-culturales, que son ejemplo de la creatividad bilbaína o el resultado de remarcar su procedencia, filiación o incluso fruto de la vocación de bilbainía de sus mentores.

    Quisiera por tanto iniciar un REPERTORIO, estructurado en tres áreas; la primera que hace referencia a aquellos lugares conocidos en el mundo a los que se ha extrapolado el nombre de nuestra ciudad, y aquellos otros que se han utilizado como lugares de trabajo y esparcimiento, a la que denominaremos ESPACIOS BILBAO. Un segundo epígrafe que recogerá las asociaciones, empresas y medios de comunicación, llamado ENTIDADES BILBAO y un último apartado que designaremos PRODUCCIÓN BILBAO, orientado a los objetos y obras de carácter artístico-cultural, cuyo nombre o título es Bilbao.

    Bilbao-Bilbo, is the name of our Township, and by extension it is the patronymic of many of its children and bodies; but there also settlements in different parts of the world with the same place-name, Bilbao, as well as objects and artistic-cultural products; these are an example of the creativity of Bilbao’s inhabitants or the result of stressing their origin or connection with the city, or they even arise from a Bilbaooriented vocation on the part of their mentors.

    I therefore wish to initiate a REPERTORY, structured according to three areas: the first refers to those places around the world to which the name of our city has been extrapolated, and to those other places that have been used as places of work and recreation; we will denominate these BILBAO SPACES. A second epigraph will list the associations, companies and means of communication, called BILBAO ENTITIES; and a final section, which we will designate BILBAO PRODUCTION, referring to objects and works of an artistic-cultural character, whose name or title is Bilbao.

    Bilbo-Bilbao da gure hiriaren izena eta, hedaduraz, bertako seme-alaba askoren patronimikoa; alabaina, munduan barrena toponimiko bereko biztanle-gune bat baino gehiago dago, bai eta objektu eta produktu artistiko-kulturalak ere. Horiek guztiak ez dira besterik Bilboren sormenaren ondorio baino, haren jatorria, loturak edo bilbotartasuna azpimarratzearen ondorio.

    Beraz, KATALOGOari ekin nahi nioke, hiru arlotan banaturik: lehenengoan, BILBAO GUNEAK izena emango diogu, munduan barrena gure hiriaren izena hartu duten leku ezagunak eta lanleku edo aisigune gisara erabili direnak aipatuko ditut. Bigarren arloa BILBAO ERAKUNDEAK izango da eta horren barruan Bilboko elkarteak, enpresak eta komunikabideak izango ditugu aztergai. Azkenik, BILBAO EKOIZPENA izenaren pean, izenburutzat Bilbo duten objektu eta obra artistiko-kulturalak ekarriko ditugu.
