This paper summarizes magnetic susceptibility and bulk density studies from FU-1 core taken from the Fuentillejo maar lake, Spain. These physical parameters were measured by a GEOTEK Multisensor Core Logger. Intervals with terrigenous deposition correspond to high magnetic susceptibility and bulk density values. These intervals were correlated with erosive events occurred during the GS-2 (Last Glacial Maximum) and the upper Holocene. Organic laminations and sapropelic layers have lower values of these parameters than terrigenous deposits. These techniques are useful for rapid and non-destructive core logging of lacustrine sediments.
