Stratigraphic and sedimentological works show that the Osario Gallery in El Sidron Cave has a complex sedimentary infill. Bones and artefacts are present throughout an unsorted and unbedded unit which consists of a mixture of gravel-sized limestone fragments with silty loam filling the spaces among the clasts. This unit represents a high energy phase interpreted as debris flow deposit related to the collapse of an upper level or gallery and/or recording a big storm event. Textural and geochemical features of sediments probably reflect a reorganization in the hydrodynamic behaviour of the gallery as response to the emplacement of collapse-derived sediments and/or a lowering of the piezometric level in the cave (due to a change in the external base level).
