Resumen de Las temperaturas extremas de la temporada invernal en la región occidental de Cuba en el período 1981-2016

  El invierno cubano tiene una mayor representación en el occidente, los estudios que se han realizado para carac-terizarlo y determinar su duración, son escasos y anteriores al año 2000. En los últimos años se han detectadocambios en el clima de nuestro país, en el campo de las temperaturas, por lo que se hace necesario actualizarla información al respecto. Para ello, la presente investigación tiene como objetivo general analizar la temporadainvernal, teniendo en cuenta las temperaturas extremas en la región occidental de Cuba en el período 1981-2016,además de determinar las fechas de inicio y fin de la temporada invernal. Se emplearon métodos estadísticos comoel diagrama de cajas y bigotes y el análisis de clúster para estudiar el comportamiento de las variables; se empleóel método complejo de análisis de las temperaturas extremas y se creó un nuevo indicador para determinar las fe-chas de inicio y fin de la temporada invernal. Como resultados principales se obtuvo que el invierno se caracterizapor días confortables o frescos; habitualmente se extiende de noviembre a marzo, aunque en los últimos años laduración media es de dos a tres meses.

  In Cuba the winter has a greater representation in the West, the studies that have been carried out to characterizeit and determine its duration are scarce and prior to the year 2000. In recent years, changes have been detected inthe climate of our country, in the field of temperatures, so it is necessary to update the information in this regard.Thus, the present investigation has like general objective to analyze the winter season, taking into account theextreme temperatures in the western region of Cuba in the period 1981- 2016, besides to determine beginning andend dates of the winter season. Statistical methods such as boxplots and cluster analysis were used to study thebehavior of the variables; the complex method of analysis of extreme temperatures was used and a new indicatorwas created to determine the start and end dates of the winter season. The main results were that winter ischaracterized by comfortable or fresh days; it usually extends from November to March, although in recent yearsthe average duration is two to three months.
