La planificació i la política lingüístiques a l’URSS: la categoria de nacionalitat

    La Unió Soviètica va construir una categoria social i cultural (la nacionalitat) a partir d’una sèrie de paràmetres que en bona part brollaren de la planificació i la política lingüístiques (PPL) dels primers anys després de la Revolució. La PPL va passar per fases diverses amb conseqüències també diferents, i va contribuir a la configuració d’un imaginari particular sobre la nacionalitat, tant pel que fa a la fonamentació com a la interpretació d’una categoria que, encara avui, es percep generalment com a immanent i perpètuament heretable. L’article exposa els orígens i les diverses fases de la PPL a l’URSS i apunta que la categoria de nacionalitat i les implicacions que té en són avui el vestigi més palpable.

    The Soviet Union constructed a social and cultural category (nationality) on the basis of a series of parameters which basically sprang up from language policy and planification (LPP) of the first years after the Revolution. LPP went through different stages with correspondingly diverse consequences, and contributed to configurate a peculiar imaginary about the idea of nationality, both about the founding and the interpretation of a category that’s perceived even today as being generally immanent and perpetually inheritable. The article lays out the origins and the different stages of the LPP in the USSR, and infers that the category of nationality and its social and historical implications are nowadays its most tangible remains.
