El análisis de esta pequeña obra de Delibes ofrece una reflexión sobre el acto creativo que la autora de este artículo intenta desentrañar a través de las propias palabras del vallisoletano, oculto tras la imagen del pintor Nicolás. Una experiencia vital y artística que enraíza en Goya y Velázquez, anida en la Escuela de Madrid y concluye en el hiperrealismo. Así, como en Las Meninas, el escritor se sitúa ante el espejo mostrándonos simultáneamente la realidad y la apariencia, en definitiva, su propia ficción sobre el arte de escribir.

The analysis about this short work by Delibes reflects on his creative process. A task which the writer of this paper tries to fathom through the author’s original words, hidden behind the image of Nicolás, the painter. A vital and artisti experience which is rooted in Goya and Velázquez, dwells on La Escuela de Madrid and ends with hyper-realism.
As it happens in Las Meninas, the author is facing the mirror showing us reality and fiction simultaneously, in short, his own creation about the art of writing.
