    Chinchilla de Montearagón y su corregimiento fue una zona lindante con los reinos de Valencia y Murcia, es decir, un territorio de tránsito. El texto propone un análisis de la evolución histórica de las poblaciones de este distrito desde la perspectiva de la historia archivística y la heurística, pues se hace a partir de testimonios documentales exteriores a los de Chinchilla y su partido, generados por instituciones de mayor entidad, como la Diputación de Millones del Reino de Murcia, situada en el Concejo de Murcia, el Adelantamiento Mayor del Reino de Murcia, detentado por los marqueses de los Vélez, el Cabildo Catedralicio de Murcia, o la Superintendencia de Rentas Reales del Reino de Murcia, asimismo en Murcia, y sus fondos documentales se encuentran en el Archivo Municipal de Murcia, el Archivo Ducal de Medina Sidonia (Sanlúcar de Barrameda) y el Archivo Histórico Provincial de Murcia. Esta metodología y perspectiva permite nuevos conocimientos o aportaciones a la historia demográfica y socio-económica del territorio, que aquí se proponen y exponen

    Chinchilla de Montearagón and its corregimiento was an area bordering the kingdoms of Valencia and Murcia, that is, a transit territory. The text proposes an analysis of the historical evolution of the populations of this district from the perspective of the archival history and the heuristic, since it is made from documentary testimonies external to those of Chinchilla and his party, generated by institutions of greater importance, as the Diputación de Millones of the Kingdom of Murcia, located in the Council of Murcia, the Major Advancement of the Kingdom of Murcia, held by the Marquis of the Vélez, the Murcia’s Cathedral Council or the Superintendence of Royal Revenue of the Kingdom of Murcia, also in Murcia, and their documentary backgrounds are in the Municipal Archive of Murcia, the Ducal Archive of Medina Sidonia (Sanlúcar de Barrameda) and the Provincial Historical Archive of Murcia. This methodology and perspective allows new knowledge or contributions to the demographic and socio-economic history of the territory, which are proposed and presented here
