    El propósito del estudio fue describir el nivel de comprensión epistemológica del tesista sobre investigaciones cuantitativas, cualitativas y mixtas, a partir del conocimiento demostrado en la maestría docencia para la educación superior en la Universidad Nacional Experimental “Rafael María Baralt”, municipio Miranda, estado Zulia, mediante los aportes teóricos de Benzanilla et al (2018), Di Silvestre (2015), Durán (2017), Cadena et al (2017), Piñero y Perozo (2019). Como conclusión se describió que es mínimo el nivel de comprensión epistemológica del tesista sobre investigaciones cuantitativas, cualitativas y mixtas, porque el conocimiento demostrado, dificulta la comprensión de las características diferenciadoras de cada enfoque.

    The purpose of the study was to describe the level of epistemological understanding of the thesis student on quantitative, qualitative and mixed research, based on the knowledge demonstrated in the master's degree in teaching for higher education at the Universidad Nacional Experimental "Rafael María Baralt", Miranda municipality, Zulia state, through the theoretical contributions of Benzanilla et al (2018), Di Silvestre (2015), Durán (2017), Cadena et al (2017), Piñero and Perozo (2019). As a conclusion, it was described that the level of epistemological understanding of the thesis student on quantitative, qualitative and mixed research is minimal, because the knowledge demonstrated makes it difficult to understand the differentiating characteristics of each approach.
