Resumen de Percepción de autoeficacia en dolor crónico. Adaptación y validación de la chronic pain selfefficacy scale

  Este trabajo tiene como objetivo adaptar y validar la “Chronic Pain SelfEfficacy Scale” (Anderson, Dowds, Pelletz, Edwards y Peeters-Asdourian, 1995).

  Para ello, después del proceso de traducción, retrotraducción, y prueba de comprensión, la escala se administró a una muestra de 113 pacientes de dolor crónico benigno atendidos en la Unidad del Dolor del Hospital General y Universitario de Alicante. Obtuvimos tres factores de contenido similar a los originales. Asimismo, la escala presentó buenas propiedades psicométricas en cuanto a fiabilidad y validez de constructo. Todo ello hace de ella un instrumento útil para evaluar las expectativas de autoeficacia respecto del control del dolor crónico benigno

  This work is an adaptation of the “Chronic Self-efficacy Scale” (Anderson, Dowds, Pelletz, Edwards y Peeters-Asdourian; 1995). In a first phase, we have done the translation, backtranslation and we have tested the understanding of the questionnarie in a spanish sample, where modifications have been introduced to improve it. In the second phase we have determined the factorial structure and the psychometric properties of the scale. We have reproduced, on one hand, the three factors of the original scale. On the other hand, reliability and validity analyses have shown good psychometric properties, as much in each of the factors as in the total score of the scale. All this makes this questionnaire useful to assess selfefficacy expectations in chronic pain patients in a spanish context.
