  • Resumen
    • The lowermost pliocene transgression gave place to a paleogeography of bays and gulfs in the neogene perimediterranean basins of the Betic Cordillera. Small Gilbert-type delta systems were developed in that paleogeographie context. This paper shows two of those deltaic examples in the southeast of the Betie Cordillera, which are attached to Sierra de Gador margins: Alhama de Almeria and Adra deltaic complexes. Both of deltaic complexes consist of a longitudinal and transversal deltaic systems made up of sigmoidal and oblique clinoforms. Sea-level changes, local paleogeography, local changes of the sea floor depth, lithologies of the drainage basins and storm and/or flood catastrophic events were some of the factors which controlled the stratigraphic architecture and sedimentatary style of the deltas. The most characteristics facies associations are in the delta fronts: backsets, slump scars and oysters and barnacles attached to the clasts accumulations.
