This work focuses on reconstructing diets and mobility during the Mesolithic, Neolithic and Chalcolithic in the Cantabrian Region. A multi-isotopic approache was carried out in human remains well-dated from El Toral IIIrockshelter. Results showed different diets between the Mesolithic and Neolithic/Chalcolithic periods. Marine protein consumption was detected during the Mesolithic while during the Neolithic/Chalcolithic the human diet was based on terrestrial C3 animal resources, probably related to the consumption of meat, milk and dairy products.
