A geological monitoring was carried out during the two archaeological excavation campaigns (2017-2018) in the site located in the Cerro de la Virgen de la Muela (Roman city of Caraca (Driebes, Guadalajara)) that pursued a double objective. On the one hand, a detailed geological mapping of the Cerro de la Virgen de la Muela was realized to determine if there was any geological conditioning in the creation, development and abandonment of the city. On the other hand, structural data have been taken of the deformations existing in the excavated remains, in order to discriminate if these deformations could have been triggered by an earthquake.
