Resumen de Covid-19: fuentes de información cuantitativa

Se reseña y discute una selección de fuentes de datos cuantitativos sobre el impacto sanitario de la pandemia de Covid-19. Se presentan y exponen fuentes de datos abiertos sobre la situación del Covid-19 en cuanto a su impacto sanitario (casos, fallecimientos, etc.), tanto de ámbito global como de ámbito español, y más brevemente se apuntan fuentes correspondientes al ámbito de países de Europa Occidental más cercanos a España, y de países más poblados de Iberoamérica. Se trata de fuentes en su mayoría de organismos oficiales. También se presentan modelizaciones de datos y pronósticos sobre el Covid-19 por parte de grupos de investigadores de universidades españolas. Como conclusiones, se constata el déficit de información de detalle a nivel local (por municipios y provincias) en buena parte del territorio español, y las limitaciones de los datos cuantitativos en España y otros países (en particular, respecto a las cifras de fallecimientos suministradas por fuentes oficiales). Asimismo, se reconoce el potencial que representan para estudios actuales y futuros sobre esta pandemia las múltiples fuentes de datos publicadas en abierto.

A selection of quantitative data sources on the health impact of the Covid-19 pandemic are reviewed and discussed. Open data sources on the situation of Covid-19 in terms of its health impact (cases, deaths, etc.) are presented and explained, both globally and in Spain, and more briefly sources corresponding to the scope of countries are pointed out from Western Europe closest to Spain, and from the most populated countries in Latin America. These are mostly sources from official bodies. We also present data modeling and forecast about Covid-19 by groups of researchers from Spanish universities. As conclusions, the deficit of detailed information at the local level (by municipalities and provinces) in a large part of the Spanish territory, and the limitations of the quantitative data in Spain and other countries (in particular, with respect to the figures of deaths provided by official sources). Likewise, the potential represented by present huge number of data sources for this pandemic’s present and future studies is recognized.
