  • This paper summarizes and highlights the presentations and discussions that took place during a workshop on sustainable engineeringdesign in both practice and education. Supported by Harvey Mudd College’s Center for Design Education, Mudd Design Workshop VI,‘Sustaining Sustainable Design,’ was held at Mudd during 29–31 May 2009. This paper describes both the key ideas that emerged fromthe presentations and discussions of the participating engineering design educators, practitioners and researchers, and the methodologyused to capture and retain those ideas.
