    El artículo propone una revisión e interpretación de la visión aportada por los principales cronistas pereiranos sobre los aspectos económicos y sociales en la fundación de Pereira. El balance permite destacar los aportes y las evidentes orientaciones para la investigación histórica que se desprenden del trabajo de estos importantes autores, pero también advertir los vacíos en sus visiones, soportadas en la memoria y el sentimiento de afecto, la cual conduce a la creación de mitos y leyendas, que si bien aportan a la belleza narrativa sobre la ciudad, se alejan de su verdadera conformación histórica.

    This article proposes a review and interpretation of the vision provided by the major chroniclers of Pereira on economic and social issues in the foundation of Pereira. The balance allows us to highlight the contributions and manifest guidelines for historical research, arising not only from the work of these important authors, but also from noticing the gaps in their visions supported through the memory and the feeling of affection, which leads to the creation of myths and legends, and even though contributing to the narrative beauty of the city, they also take a distance from their true historical conformation.
