El desafío de la pluralidad teológica

    Desde finales del siglo XIX tímidamente se fue gestando un giro teológico con una diversidad de miradas y perspectivas. El concilio Vaticano II significó, en este sentido, un acontecimiento que impulsó y confirmó esta pluralidad teológica. No obstante, frente a tal diversidad, no faltó por parte del magisterio ciertas censuras o llamadas de atención, peticiones de silencios o de abstención en la enseñanza a algunos teólogos. En cierta manera podríamos decir que esta pluralidad no respiraba aires de calma y paz. Había como una suerte de tensión entre un pluralismo que crecía y una cierta resistencia temerosa. Esta situación –en parte superada en la actualidad– sigue suscitando algunas preguntas e interrogantes. ¿Hasta qué punto es plausible la pluralidad teológica? La diversidad de corrientes y perspectivas ¿es un desafío válido y legítimo o un mayúsculo problema? ¿Es una riqueza para el constante reto del quehacer teológico que debe pensar y hablar bien de Dios, o más bien, es una dificultad para la correcta transmisión e inteligencia de la fe? En nuestro estudio, luego de presentar algunas de las corrientes teológicas más emblemáticas, intentaremos dar respuesta a estos interrogantes.

    Since the end of the 19th century, a theological turn characterized by a diversity of viewpoints and perspectives has timidly been taking shape. The II Vatican Council represented, in this way, an event that motivated and confirmed this theological diversity. However, such diversity didn’t prevent theologists from suffering from censures, warnings, and silence and refraining requests when teaching. Somehow, truth be told, this diversity didn’t sail in calmed and peaceful waters. There was some kind of tension between a growing diversity and a fearful resistance. This situation, partially overcome at present, is still eliciting some unanswered questions. How plausible is theological diversity? Is diversity of trends and perspectives a valid and fair challenge or a major problem? Does it enrich the constant challenge of the theological work that has to think and speak well of God, or rather creates a problem for the right transmission and intelligence of faith? In this study, after presenting some of the most emblematic theological trends of thought, we will try to respond these questions. The goal of this work is to respond such unanswered questions after presenting some of the most emblematic theological trends.
