    The article proposed to articulate the theory that will guide the thesis - the New Librarianship, coined by R. David Lankes - with the concepts widely discussed by Zygmunt Bauman - community, liquid modernity and its unfolding. To do so, we carried out a preliminary survey on the profile of contemporary society, and later, we related and discussed the relations between this society and the new way of making use of information, in order to provide a reflection on the emergence of a "new Librarianship ".

    O artigo propôs articular a teoria que norteará a tese – a Nova Biblioteconomia, cunhada por R. David Lankes – com os conceitos amplamente discutidos por Zygmunt Bauman – comunidade, modernidade liquida e seus desdobramentos. Para tanto, realizamos um levantamento preliminar acerca do perfil da sociedade contemporânea, e, posteriormente, relacionamos e discutimos as relações entre essa sociedade e a nova maneira de fazer uso da informação, de modo a propiciar uma reflexão sobre a emergência de uma “nova Biblioteconomia".
