Paideia: entre lo político y la política de la institución imaginaria de la educación

    El artículo pretende elucidar lo que la institución de la educación es, a partir de la obra de Cornelius Castoriadis, y cómo es que se relaciona con la política como actividad y lo político como ejercicio. Partiendo de la premisa de que la educación posee la política y lo político como características intrínsecas. Así, se establece un siguiente vínculo entre sus formas más elaboradas, la institución de la paideia y la institución del poder. Esto admite presentar a la educación como la forma por la cual se transmite la paideia, la cultura; sinónimo de sociedad, es decir, el conjunto de valores que sostienen a esa sociedad. Esos valores comprenden el hacer, decir, pensar con los que se fabrican al individuo mismo, individuo que a su vez hace, dice y piensa a dicha sociedad, sin caer en reduccionismos, ni determinismos. Pues además del poder explícito latente y visible, está el infra-poder como generador de nuevas formas sociales, nuevas instituciones sociales. Por lo anterior, la relevancia de recuperar la reflexión sobre la finalidad, funcionalidad y necesidad de la paideia como creación humana que potencia tanto a la psique humana, como al colectivo anónimo.

    The article aims to elucidate what the institution of education is, from the work of Cornelius Castoriadis, and how it relates to politics as an activity and the political as an exercise. Starting from the premise that education has politics and the political as intrinsic characteristics. Thus, a following link is established between its more elaborate forms, the institution of paideia and the institution of power. This admits to presenting education as the way in which paideia, culture is transmitted; synonymous with society, that is, the set of values that support that society. These values include doing, saying, thinking with those that are manufactured to the individual himself, an individual who in turn does, says and thinks to that society, without falling into reductionism or determinism. For in addition to the latent and visible explicit power, there is infra-power as a generator of new social forms, new social institutions. Therefore, the relevance of recovering the reflection on the purpose, functionality and necessity of paideia as a human creation that empowers both the human psyche and the anonymous collective.
