Resumen de Increasing student performance by integrating project management into CAD undergraduate course

  • This paper presents a new pedagogical experiment based on skills in computer design courses. The evaluation of competencies isprincipally carried out during design projects that involve new products issued according to client need. The 11 students areintroduced to CAD software through a theoretical course that gives them the requisite background and appropriate tools. Theevaluation is essentially conducted during the design process, which includes the use of the CAD software package and integratesproject management procedures to increase the engineering students’ performance. Considering the project’s complexity and theshort time period the achieved results are very promising and demonstrate high deliverable quality. These results promise anexcellent potential to be reused to enhance the teaching level during future years.
