Background. The first course at University typically involves a great modification in the student lives who arrive at a new institution where they have little or none friends. This situation implies a big change in their lives, together with a new way of teaching and evaluating their knowledge. The main objective is to get the very new student integration in the University Community with the volunteer help of a mentor who is a veteran student at the institution, and who has already been integrated in the University way of life. Methodology. Students belonging to the second and third courses are invited to become voluntary mentors, and help to first course students getting the recognition of one ECTS. Mentors have also been assigned a professor who coordinates them and can assist them in any appearing problem during their relationship with the trainees. Each mentor will gather trainees in several reunions where he will initiate them on how to cope with the course subjects and the chances the University offers. Results and Conclussions. The results seem excellent. Mentors feel themselves proud of having been useful to trainees who are very satisfied with the program. A good relationship between promotions has been achieved.
