María Teresa García Álvarez, Eva Suarez, Raquel Quiroga Garcia

  • The present educational context of higher education in the European Union shows the importance of developing a teaching basedon learning. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) favor the development of a more active role of students bymeans of the creation of a flexible and an interactive learning where student is the centre. These technologies have beenincorporated in engineering degrees too where learning based on experimentation and exploration acquires a great relevance. The objective of this paper is to study the role of ICTs in the learning process of engineering students in a subject of Economy. In this context, we analyze the learning results obtained by students of computer engineering before and after the use of a learningvirtual platform. At the same time, the main advantages of such tools are discussed. Results indicate that these students obtain abetter learning by means of the use of ICTs.
