Resumen de Gerusalemme: mito e realtà. Oltre le religioni?

Maurice M. Roumani

  • This paper addresses the Islamic religious tradition as it relates to the Temple Mount. The sanctity of Jerusalem has been used by different parties throughout the centuries. Their mutual religious traditions have created and strengthened myths that clash with the real picture of what Jerusalem is or has been. The Jewish immigration added a new dimension to the status of the city, despite the fact that the new State of Israel maintained the status quo of the religious sites. However, the sanctity of the city as conceived by Muslims which was initially limited to the Islamic sites, has now been extended to other Jewish sites in the city and further to the whole country.
