Los locales de teatro madrileños como elementos de transformación espacial

    La investigación que se presenta analiza la contribución de teatro en la construcción y en la transformación de la ciudad de Madrid. Así, se examinan las características de la geografía teatral actual y su evolución en las últimas décadas, caracterizada por el crecimiento de locales, por la proliferación de teatros alternativos y de las administraciones públicas, por las restauraciones de teatros históricos y por la puesta en valor de edificios y espacios singulares para usos teatrales. La metodología empleada utiliza fuentes cuantitativas y cualitativas, datos georreferenciados, bibliografía específica del teatro y documentación histórico‐cualitativa para explicar la evolución de la geografía teatral madrileña y destacar sus elementos de valor en el paisaje actual. Los resultados de trabajo analizan procesos de cambio espacial por la apertura de nuevos teatros y subrayan la importancia de algunos de sus establecimientos como elementos urbanos singulares que interesan a una sociedad cada vez más comprometida con los valores del paisaje.

    This research analyzes the contribution of the theater in the construction and in the transformation of the city of Madrid. Thus, the characteristics of the Madrilenian theater geography are examined and their evolution in the last decades, characterized by the growth of theaters, by the proliferation of alternative and publics theaters, by the restorations of historical theaters and by the valuation of buildings and singular spaces of Madrid for theater uses. The methodology uses quantitative and qualitative sources, georeferenced data, bibliography of the Madrilenian Theater and historical and qualitative documentation to explain the Madrilenian theater geography and examining their valuable elements in the urban landscape. The work results analyze space change processes by the opening of new theaters and they prove the importance of some of their emblematic establishments as singular urban elements that they interest a more compromising society every time with the values of the landscape.
