    En 2014 Paisaje Transversal desarrollamos un proyecto de resiliencia urbana en Olot, una ciudad con una población de aproximadamente 35.000 habitantes situada a 50km de Girona. Fuimos inicialmente contactados por el Ayuntamiento de Olot a finales de 2013 para un programa piloto, y desarrollamos el proyecto de mayo de 2014 a final de año. El Ayuntamiento quiso poner en marcha el plan en las áreas de mayor vulnerabilidad, siendo Sant Miquel‐Les Tries escogido como barrio piloto. La mezcla de grupos inmigrantes, una red de asociaciones comunitarias y la diversidad de edificación y paisaje proporcionaban una gran oportunidad para la regeneración, enriquecimiento y mejora de la calidad de vida. A través de las dos fases del proyecto – (1) diagnóstico participativo y (2) priorización, construcción, colaboración y visibilización de las propuestas –, los procesos participativos transdisciplinares se mantuvieron a la vanguardia. La oportunidad que nos presentó el Ayuntamiento de Olot nos permitió utilizar los INPAR como una herramienta para evaluar datos cualitativos y cuantitativos sobre indicadores de sostenibilidad y opiniones de los residentes. Además, el resultado final del plan piloto no fue solo barato y fácil de implementar, sino también flexible, testeable y adaptable, alineado con la filosofía de beta permanente.

    In 2014 Paisaje Transversal developed an urban resilience project in Olot, a city of around 35,000 inhabitants in Catalonia situated 50km from Girona. We were initially contacted by the Olot municipality at the end of 2013 for a pilot program, and we carried out the project from May 2014 through the end of the year. The municipality wanted to plan and take action in the areas of highest vulnerability, so the neighborhood of Saint Miquel‐Les Tries was selected to start. The mixture of immigrant groups, a network of community associations, and the diversity of buildings and landscape provided a great opportunity for regeneration, enrichment and improved quality of life. Through two phases of the project – (1) participatory diagnosis and (2) prioritization, construction, collaboration, and visibilization of proposals –, participatory and transdisciplinary processes remained at the forefront. The opportunity presented to us by the Olot municipality enabled us to employ INPAR as a tool to assess qualitative and quantitative data on sustainability indicators and resident opinions. Furthermore, the end result of the pilot was not only low‐cost and easy to implement, but also flexible, testable, and adaptable, in line with the philosophy of beta permanente.
