    La infraestructura verde, como modelo innovador de planificación y gestión del territorio, establece entre sus muchos beneficios la mejora de las oportunidades de ocio y el turismo como un beneficio ecosistémico y social. El origen del concepto es relativamente reciente (a finales del siglo XX) aunque los conocimientos y su investigación han ido en aumento, es necesario conocer más a fondo los vínculos existentes entre la infraestructura verde y el turismo. El turismo es una herramienta que puede, sin duda, reforzar y cumplir con los principios que requiere una infraestructura verde como son, el carácter multifuncional del espacio, la protección, eficiencia, coherencia, integración, etc. Para ello, esta comunicación pretende abordar y profundizar sobre el concepto de infraestructura verde y su relación con el turismo a partir de una reflexión teórica sobre el concepto, su evolución, sus principios y retos, que será complementada con el análisis de la literatura científica publicada en Scopus sobre este tema, así como también una selección de buenas prácticas e iniciativas exitosas de infraestructura verde en las cuales el turismo sea una de las principales funciones.

    The green infrastructure, as an innovative planning model and territory management, establishes, among its many benefits, the improvement of leisure and tourism opportunities as an ecosystem and social benefit. The origin of the concept is relatively recent (at the end of the XX century) although its knowledge and its investigation have been increasing, the link between tourism and green infrastructure is necessary to be better understood. The tourism is a tool that can, without a doubt, reinforces and accomplish the principles required by a green infrastructure such us the multifunctional character of an area, the protection, efficiency, coherence, integration, etc. For that purpose, this communication seeks to address and go into detail about the green infrastructure concept and its relation with tourism throws a theoretical reflection about the concept, its evolution, principles ad challenges, that will be complemented by a scientific literature analysis published in Scopus about this topic as well as a selection of good practices and successful initiatives of green infrastructures in which the tourism will be one of the main functions.
