El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la dinámica fluvial histórica del tramo del río Jarama situado entre Velilla de San Antonio y Rivas Vacía Madrid utilizando como fuente de información diversos documentos gráficos y escritos procedentes de archivos nacionales y regionales. El trabajo está centrado en la búsqueda de datos sobre cambios históricos en el trazado del río, así como en la identificación de los lugares en los que ocurren los hechos, con el fin de aportar nueva información sobre el escenario climático y ambiental que existió entre los siglos XVI‐XIX. Asimismo se busca definir los paisajes asociados a una llanura aluvial activa que surgen de la interacción entre los usos del suelo, la gestión humana y la dinámica fluvial.

The aim of this work is to analyze the historical river dynamics of the section of the river Jarama located between Velilla de San Antonio and Rivas ‐ Vacía Madrid, using variety of graphic documents and writings belonging to national and regional archives. The work is focused on the analysis of historical changes in the river channel geometry, as well as on the identification of locations where events occur, in order to provide new information about the climatic and environmental scenario that existed between the XVI‐XIX Centuries. It also seeks to define the landscape typologies associated with an active alluvial plain built from interactions among land uses, human management and river dynamics.
