La empresa bogotana El Áncora Editores, que continúa en funcionamiento, fue fundada por Patricia Hoher y Felipe Escobar en el año 1980. El propósito de este texto es presentar un acercamiento a la historia de la editorial El Áncora, analizar su línea editorial a partir del estudio del catálogo reconstruido y mostrar cómo la empresa se insertó dentro del mercado editorial de las últimas décadas del siglo XX y lo que va corrido del xxi; todo ello teniendo como marco teórico-metodológico la sociología de la literatura y los estudios editoriales.

The Bogota company El Áncora Editores was founded by Patricia Hoher and Felipe Escobar in 1980 and is still in operation. The purpose of this text is to present an approach to the history of El Áncora publishing house, analyze its editorial line based on study of the reconstructed catalog and show how the company was inserted into the publishing market of the last decades of the twentieth century and throughout the 21st century; all of this having as a theoretical-methodological framework the sociology of literature and the publishing studies.
