Resumen de Improving the educational inclusion of students in difficult contexts: a case study for ethnic minorities, immigrants and refugees

María Elena Augusto Fernández

  • We are in a society where we cannot ignore that not everyone has the same access or the same socioeconomic advantages due to various social, cultural and ethnic factors. If we take as reference the current educational system, this fact becomes more relevant since as educators we are in the obligation to offer our students the greatest number of opportunities to prepare them in society, promoting an inclusive educational model for each and every one of them without taking into account some of the factors that have a direct impact on their teaching and learning process. This is the main aim of this research work that I am carrying out with primary school students with the main objective of offering them the same opportunities that is offered to any other student in any place in the world. From the English area, I propose an inclusive model through the use of new information and communication technologies, so that they develop their linguistic, social and citizen competences, providing them with necessary tools to achieve their goals. In addition, different types of content are integrated in the classroom according to their interests and needs.
