    Este trabajo pretende indagar en las difíciles relaciones entre el monarca castellano Juan I de Trastámara (1379-1390) y la Orden de Santiago durante las décadas finales del siglo XIV, así como en las diversas políticas emprendidas por la Corona en lo que al nombramiento de maestres santiaguistas se refiere.

    Abstract This article examines the difficult relationship between the Castilian king Juan I of Trastámara (1379-1390) and the Military Order of Santiago in the final decades of the fourteenth century. It explores the political measures advanced by the monarchy with respect to the appointment of the Masters of Santiago.
