La formación de administradores de empresas hoteleras desde la perspectiva de los estudiantes: caso ULEAM

    Convertir al Ecuador en una potencia turística a nivel mundial es una tarea asumida por el Ministerio de Turismo en 2017. A las universidades les corresponde formar profesionales en la Hotelería que aporten con su gestión al desarrollo del país. En el proceso de seguimiento al graduado de la carrera de Hotelería, se han detectado falencias, así surgió esta investigación; que consiste en valorar desde la perspectiva del estudiante, la formación de Administradores de Empresas Hoteleras en la Facultad de Hotelería y Turismo de la Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí. Se han utilizado métodos empíıricos apoyados en la encuesta,entrevista y observación. La muestras estuvo conformada 160 estudiantes de ellos 90 graduados y 70 que cursan la carrera en el momento de la investigación. Se utiliza un muestreo aleatorio simple. La encuesta se apoyó en un instrumento tipo cuestionario que fue validado por juicio de expertos. Se entrevistó a 160 individuos que conformaron la muestra. Se utilizó métodos teóricos; análisis y síntesis, histórico-lógico, inducción-deducción. Se obtuvieron los siguientes resultados; el equipamiento, la funcionalidad y la disponibilidad influyen negativamente en la formación práctica de los estudiantes de Hotelería, se concluye que es necesario que profesores de las asignaturas profesionales reciban actualización en las ́ultimas tendencias de la hotelería lo que incide directamente en la formación teórico-práctico

    Turning Ecuador into a tourist power worldwide is a task assumed by the Ministry of Tourism in 2017. The universities are responsible for training professionals in the Hospitality that contribute their management to the development of the country. In the follow-up process to the graduate of the hotel career, flaws have been detected, and this investigation arose; which consists of assessing from the perspective of the student, the formation of Hotel Business Administrators in the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism of the Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí University. Empirical methods supported by the survey, interview and observation have been used. The samples consisted of 160 students of them 90 graduates and 70 who attend the race at the time of theinvestigation. Simple random sampling is used. The survey was based on a questionnaire-type instrument that was validated byexpert judgment. 160 individuals that made up the sample were interviewed. Theoretical methods were used ; analysis and synthesis,historical-logical, induction-deduction. The following results were obtained; the equipment, functionality and availability negatively influence the practical training of hotel students, it is concluded that it is necessary that professors of the professional subjects receive updates on the latest hotel trends which directly affects the theoretical-practical training.
