    En Venezuela, las series de lluvia mensual presentan deficiencias en su continuidad temporal, así como irregularidades en la localización y datos de identificación de las estaciones a las que pertenecen. No obstante, los reportes descriptivos sobre la condición de la información pluviométrica son escasos, incluso para importantes territorios como la región Capital. Esta investigación de tipo descriptivo a partir de datos primarios, analizó la información disponible de 322 estaciones. Se identificaron 242 series con datos y 80 sin datos, se cuantificaron 63.649 montos de lluvia y 11.531 meses sin información que fueron discriminados según la cantidad de datos englobados, faltantes y otras cualidades ausentes o cuestionables asociadas a las series o datos de lluvia. Se propone una periodización histórica para las estaciones de la región.

    In Venezuela, the monthly rainfall series have deficiencies in their temporal continuity, such as irregularities in the location and identification of their stations. However, the reports referred to the condition of the rainfall information are scarce, even for important territories like the Venezuelan Capital region.

    In this research of descriptive type from primary data, the information of 322 meteorological stations was analyzed. 242 series with data and 80 without information were identified. 63,649 amounts of rain and 11,531 months without information were measured, discriminating the amount of missing data involved and other absent or questionable qualities associated with the series or rainfall data. A historical periodization is proposed for the region stations.
