Resumen de ¿Cómo creo que me miran?: una reflexión sobre las imágenes atribuidas y asumidas en Trabajo Social

  El artículo que se presenta es una invitación a reflexionar sobre las imágenes que se intercambian las trabajadoras sociales y los diferentes interlocutores que entran en contacto directa o indirectamente con la profesión. A través del discurso obtenido durante la realización de una investigación cualitativa con 44 profesionales del área geográfica de Madrid (España), se analiza cómo dicho intercambio afecta a la configuración identitaria del colectivo profesional. Entre las imágenes que los sujetos de intervención, la ciudadanía, los medios de comunicación, otras profesiones y las instituciones les atribuyen y las que las trabajadoras sociales asumen como propias y comunican existe un amplio, complejo y posible espacio para el (des) entendimiento. Una de las ideas principales que se desprende del análisis es que las profesionales quieren ser identificadas por esas otras tareas que corresponden a una valoración mayor y diferente que la de la gestión de recursos y prestaciones económicas.

  The following article is an invitation to reflect on the images exchanged amongst social workers and the different interlocutors who come in direct or indirect contact with the profession. Through the discussions had during the execution of a qualitative research with 44 professionals within the geographical area of Madrid (Spain). It is possible to analyse how said exchange -amongst social workers and interlocutors- affects the identity configuration of this professional collective. Amongst the images attributed to social workers by intervention subjects, citizens, the media, other professions and institutions, and the images that social workers assume as their own and communicate, there exists an ample, complex and possible space for (miss)understanding.One of the main ideas gathered as a result of this analysis is that social workers want to be identified by all those other tasks which correspond to a higher regard and which are different to resource management and financial benefits.
