    El siglo XX fue una centuria propicia para la reflexión en torno al patrimonio cultural europeo, época de reconstrucción y restauración. Canarias no estuvo exenta del debate intelectual sobre la necesidad de mantener y valorar su patrimonio. Entre los casos que crearon un mayor debate intelectual está el del traslado del coro de la catedral de Santa Ana. La necesidad de mantener y dar un nuevo uso al coro, tras las directrices emanadas del Concilio Vaticano II, creó una reflexión de los intelectuales canarios y sus instituciones, quienes alzaron la voz a través de escritos oficiales y prensa local; llegando a pedir consejo a los profesionales de la universidad, mostrando así el interés de la población canaria hacia su patrimonio en la segunda mitad de la centuria.

    The 20th century was a propitious for the reflection concerning the cultural European heritage, wich was an epoch of reconstruction and restoration. Canary Islands weren´t exempt from the intellectual debate on the need to support and value his heritage. Among the cases that created a greater intellectual debate is the movement of the choir of the Santa Ana´s Cathedral. The needed to maintain and give a new to the chorus (after the directives come from the Second Vatican Council) created a reflection of local intellectuals and their institutions, who spoke out through official writings and local press; seek the advice of professionals of the University, thus showing the interest of the people towards their heritage in the second half of the century.
