    La presente comunicación pretende dar a conocer a los expedientes de soltería como fuente documental para conocer la trayectoria vital de los inmigrantes europeos antes de su asentamiento en Canarias. Cada foráneo que quisiese contraer matrimonio debía justificar su soltería mediante documentos procedentes de sus lugares de origen o bien mediante testigos, así como realizar una declaración de sus datos personales, lugares en los que ha estado, etc.

    The present paper wants to release the singleness records as a documentary source to know the life story of the european immigrants before their settlement at Canary Islands. Every foreign person who wants to marriage may justify their singleness with documents from their birthplaces or with witnesses, and also they must to do a statement with their personal data, the places they had been, etc.
