  • Resumen
    • This is the first paper referring to the taxonomy of genus Amylostereum as part of the macedonian mycobiota.

The species within the genus Amylostereum cause decaying of white rot type in conifers. According to the recent distribution studies conducted in Macedonia, the species Amylostereum areolatum is of conservation value and, therefore, is included in the Macedonian Red List of Fungi. Known only as a saprotroph on spruce trees, Amylostereum chailletii is commonly found on fallen fir branches, while Amylostereum laevigatum is known from different juniper species from several localities.
