    El nuestro es un acercamiento a Cántico tomando como focos de lectura y claves hermenéuticas, la alegría y la libertad. La primera es una emoción humana básica. La segunda es quizás la facultad más fascinante que posee el serhumano: esa libertad que es a la vez don y tarea. Para ello partiremos de una de las metáforas más afortunadas de la prosa de san Juan de la Cruz, la de la primavera, que aparece casi cerrando Cántico. Dicha metáfora es el anticipo escatológico de un mundo nuevo, y tiene el poder de imaginarnos ya en las vagas lindes del cielo.

    The approach of this article to the Canticle is a reading based on (and using the hermeneutical tools of) joy and freedom. The first is a basic human emotion, whereas the second is perhaps the most fascinating faculty which the human person possesses: that of freedom, which is both a gift and a task. Our point of departure will be one of the most fortunate metaphors in the prose of St. John of the Cross, that of spring, which appears almost at the end of the Canticle. This metaphor is the eschatological anticipation of a new world, and it has the power to imagine us already at the vague limits of heaven.
