  • Resumen
    • Ecologist movements present a challenge to theology. The latter is obliged to respond to this challenge, despite the self-limitation of theological discussion. Theology can and should show Christian salvation (in its christologic protologic and eschatologic dimension) in connection with the salvation of Nature, in which man assumes a leading role. There is no doubt that theology has often presented salvation in an inadequate manner, and this makes it necessary to denounce the silences and/or the complicities of Christian theology in the causes of ecological degradation. In this sense the following theological concepts are detailed and explained in their inadequacies: the World as man's territory; man in the image of God; the Church as the only place of salvation; the qpropter homines. sacraments; and Heaven as the alternative to this World. In the third part of the article the great theological principles are expounded, inspiring a common task in the service of salvation of Nature. These principles are formed into a thesis: Human action to usave Nature should be understood as a moment in the eschatalogical process of the salvation of Man and Humanity.
